AOL is clunky, slow and in my area is knocks you off at an alarming rate and is more expensive then mindspring. I can get a local access number to Mindspring anytime I wanted to go somewhere. I can add AOL Instant Messenger and see both AOL and non-AOL'ers on-line. I used AOL for about the last 5 years, my wife likes it and I keep it for her...$4.95 a month is cheaper then the grief I get when I have to show her how to read the mail again and again and again (she's barely computer literate...and much happier then me...hmmmm). AOL is not an ISP used by many folks who profess to be "computer guru's", as TheNerd does. That was the intent of my post...not to slam AOL users. For many folks it's a great ISP, for me I prefer a faster more reliable hookup, with the ability to sort mail, read web pages faster etc. Sean -----Original Message----- From: Jsuw@ao*.co* <Jsuw@ao*.co*> To: techdiver@aquanaut.com <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Cc: SMCARY@mi*.co* <SMCARY@mi*.co*>; TheNerd@ao*.co* <TheNerd@ao*.co*>; cobber@ci*.co* <cobber@ci*.co*> Date: Monday, April 26, 1999 3:05 PM Subject: ISPs >In a message dated 4/26/99 11:49:55 AM Eastern Daylight Time, >SMCARY@MI*.CO* writes: > >> They don't have them...like the rest of us they left AOL becuase it sucks as >> an ISP. > >Obviously I am also using AOL as an ISP.
