I know it shouldn't happen but it does: Some mixes take time to mix properly unless you roll the cylinders or turn them upside down a few times. It's never a problem with blends in the bottom mix range -- those come out right immediately. However, high oxygen mixes don't show their true colors until you roll the cylinder. I assume that air trickling in slowly at the end of a fill stays on top for a while. For nitrox we're talking gases of similar density and freshly pumped compressor air will tend to be warmer, thus slightly lighter. As the final flow of gas seeps in on top it will tend to stay there, mixing slowly unless agitated.
