I've watched these posts and they run border line to maybe causing someone to hurt their self. Mike like most on this list uses the programs available to him (Decom , Abyss, ect.) And now he is being told to make his own , that these tools are wrong. Most on this list do not have the time , resources, training, and skill to come up with personalized tables other than what these programs on the market let you do.So what he should be told (and he knows this I'm sure) is they work, but could be better. To tell this list to start making ones own will surely cause someone to get hurt. This falls in place just like many of the things I've seen on this list- - - Just like when Jim told a diver to just buy a set of doubles and consider himself certified doubles diver ( Not picking on you Jim , just an example)Those of us who run trips deal with this problem every year. And its getting worse. This list promotes training on the net and some who get this internet training get it turned around or should not move on to tech diving until a time they able to handle the mental stress of these kinds of dives.Gear just like these home made tables are part of a divers tools , if a diver does not have the skill to began with there is not anyway to configure his gear or kind of gear to make him a tech diver. What am I saying is this- the gear does not make the diver , but the diver is the key to the gear.Proper gear will surely enhance what is already there , but will not make him a good diver.Another point from a resent trend is the Reg switching , at our last Vatech meeting it was openly talked about and a diver following the posts had misunderstand the part about the second stage being only finger tight to change it , he was thinking the hose at the 1st stage (leading to the second stage) was to be loose . Just because you understand it when you post it, does not mean that the person reading it understands it the way you did.As I have said before You Can Not Learn to Dive on this LIST , at Some Point You Must Get in the WATER CaptJT -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
