Ok ok I know since then from several private e-mails I received that it was not the message that stung people, but the way it was delivered. It was pontification and I have apologized for that on that forum. I have also explained to several people why I think it is dangerous, or at least "challenging", to dive past the 40 metres mark on air, since there are now other options available (ie trimix) . Hell, even I did dive past the 40 meter mark on air in my early days, but now I'm no longer doing that. That may be over-cautious, cowardly ,or naieve, or just plain smart on my part. I ultimately want to survive and do my best to minimize the risks under water. Staying away from narcosis is one option I decided to use. I decided to draw the line at 40 metres on oxygen/nitrogen mixes. Being on these lists and learning about the accidents and all that, has only made me stronger in those beliefs. So I guess I did learn something. ;-) I understand now that I don't have the right to DEMAND that other people DON'T do dives past the 40 meter mark on air. That is correct and I will not make such statements anymore. But I feel I do have the right to express my views about the subject, as well as on any other subject. If I get flamed, so be it, I learn and try again. Still every time another diver bites the dust doing deep air dives, it kinda overwhelms me and I just have to say something about narcosis and deep air diving. rgrds --- Adri KC Haine darkangel@en*.co* "Killer factors in technical diving are complacency, attitude, oxygen toxicity, exceeding personal limits, ignorance and complexity."
