Mike, Don't let it bother you. Btw, I'm not sure you know this but on Jim Cobb's website there is a program written (I believe) by Erik C.Baker (the author of the articles Bill Wolk mentioned in his reply on the Deep Deco thread) which looks interesting. I haven't gone through it completely but it seems to incorporate Erik C. Bakers Gradient Factors theory.). It's called Decocalc and you can download it at ftp://ftp.cisatlantic.com/outgoing/DECOCALC.ZIP. Mind, this is another theory , none of this gradient stuff is proven, but if it works, it works.... so, compare and think about it. About deep Stops: Zplan incorporates the use of Pyle stops and WKPP stops, but it uses Buhlmanns helium "a" and "b" values (as does the Abyss, I suspect, although C.P. may have tinkered with them, because he talks of a 'modified' algorithm ??) and therefore always considers the time spent doing deep stops as extra helium (and nitrogen of course) ongassing time, making the shallow stops longer. I'm not sure the WKPP is still behind Zplan though, their knowledge of diving and deco could've changed since then. Must say Jess Armentrout came through with a very interesting resume on the deep and long deco shedules of the WKPP, which is to be admired. This is the real-life stuff and it should grip every diver by the balls and make him aware of the thin line he or she walks when doing deep and long deco-dives. Thanks again Jess for sharing this with us. rgds --- Adri KC Haine Q: Who is Adri KC Haine, anyway? A: A nobody from Belgium, don't worry. He probably doesn't even dive. Q: Belgium, where's that, in Nebraska? A: Yeah, never mind ... darkangel@en*.co* On Sun, 04 Apr 1999 11:35:15 Mike Rodriguez wrote: > >In every other discipline or field of study I have ever >been involved in, the participants treat each other >with respect and courtesy, and they conduct themselves like >adults.
