Craig, Just be patient, listen and learn from *all* sources doesn't matter how offensive it might seem. If you are one of the people who must be talked to nicely, you won't get far on this list :-) Remember that every couple of months, someone like yourself (myself included a few years back) gets on the list and asks the same questions over and over again. I can see how some people could get very tired of explaining the same concept over and over, only to have the same arguments brought up, etc. etc... the rest of the story. It is *very* helpful to search the techdiver archive to read / learn about DIR in addition to the numerous websites / articles where you could read in-depth about the concept (Halcyon, GUE, WKPP, etc.). I know many people from different parts of the world have adopted DIR, have used it in different diving conditions (wet, dry, cold, warm, rescue, rec, tech, cave, wreck, RB, etc.), so we know the system works. Also, try it *first-hand* before start a discussion with the people who has gone thru almost every conceivable configurations, and adopted DIR.
