In open water we use aluminum tanks (that goes for the doubles as well)
when diving wet. The test to do is to take your tanks (rig) and try to swim
them up with your wings deflated. If you can't then you have a weighting
problem to start with.

As for the extra gear (camera, light) its getting dump if the alternative is
death.
