Up here in chilly Canada, we're always looking for ways of keeping warmer. Last weekend, my buddy and I were going for a play in 30F water. He dove with those drygloves, while I did it wet. As soon as we got in the water, he realized that the finger tip of his dry glove was ripped. He borrowed a wet glove and we did the dive. Those gloves seem very easy to rip. I also wouldn't be comfortable with the way the rings attach to the drysuit. It looks like the suit will take more wear. The straws you stick down your wrists to prevent the squeeze look like a pain in the butt too. I've never dove dry gloves simply because I have no need to. I did 40 minutes in water that was below freezing. The air temperature was -10C. I survived without frostbite, and I don't have the hastles that my buddy seemed to have. ss -----Original Message----- From: s_lindblom@co*.co* [mailto:s_lindblom@co*.co*] Sent: Tuesday, March 09, 1999 4:32 PM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: OS drygloves Anyone have any experience with the OS drygloves? I was looking at them at Sea Rovers, and couldn't decide whether they were a good thing, or too complicated. They use an O-ring sealed inner ring that holds the gloves, so they can be snapped on and off without having to fight with the gloves as on the Viking style system, and looked like they might work with a variety of gloves rather than needed special dedicated ones. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
