Based upon her experience, I never bothered. They DO work. But the latex glove requires an insulating glove underneath for insulation. Then some kind of over glove is a good idea since the latex is not very tough. The result is a significant loss of dexterity, about equivalent to 5mm neoprene mits. Since in Tina's case her hands were not much warmer, and she gained no dexterity, she decided that the extra hassle in gearing up and maintaining the right amount of gas in the gloves was just not worth the hassle. The suit-mounted rings go on your latex wrist seals. While they look removable, our experience is that you will have to replace the seals as the seals will be damaged in the removal process (that O-ring is one tough sucker to get off). Also, if your seals are small, you won't have as much of them in contact with your arm, so diving without the gloves installed may mean more water intrusion than you experience without the rings. -- Art Greenberg artg@ec*.ne* -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
