I just acquired two sets of spring fin straps made by Jackie Smith. They're well made, but come in only two sizes and are not adjustable. So I got one set of each size and figured I'd see which size fits best. As is usually the case when I try a stunt like this, I ended up more confused than I would have been if I just got one set and put up with the fit, whatever it was. I've tried both on my wetsuit fins (Jet Fins, size L). The small size is stretched a bit and I can discern a little pressure on the back of my heel. The large size flops around just a little, making me feel a bit insecure, but it doesn't seem like it'll pass the heel of my boot. I figure since this experiment was done dry, the small size would be best since my fins will loosen up a bit when the boots compress at depth. My first opportunity to try these for real will be on a liveaboard three weeks from now. Maybe I should take both sizes .... Anyway, here's my question.
