I cannot give the exact citation, the USN had several test carried out in the
70's, all of these indicated a properly maintained tank leaked little or no
helium (He) over the course of a month. The High side was 15 cc at standard
ATM. Do you think you are losing (He) or do you think your friends have to
much other gas on board. I understand that some tank Manufacturers have
alternative "O" ring recommendations for different situations. IF they give
you no help, try a 90 durometer Nitrile "O" ring. It is a little stiffer and
could help.
