Call for Papers
Symposium - Medicine & Physiology of Diving
Top-notch physicians and researchers, directly involved in work on
topics in diving medicine and physiology, are invited to submit
abstracts for presentations of 30 minutes. There are a few spaces for
1 hour.
Audience is all divers, regardless of science background.
Language is plain English.
Primary focus is educational and interesting information divers can
use.
An idea in the works is to add a colloquium in the afternoon session,
where attendees meet with the experts for small group discussions
(and demonstrations where applicable).
The symposium is Saturday 28 Oct 995, 9-5, part of the three day
Dive Philadelphia scuba expo, 27- 29 Oct 95, Friday-Sunday. Holiday
Inn Independence Mall 4th & Arch Streets Philadelphia, PA, in the
heart of Historic Philadelphia, 1 block from the Liberty Bell and other
fun.
The symposium benefits the Undersea Hyperbaric Medical Society, to
help diving medicine and physiology. This year we sent $1500 to
them. CMEs and CEUs in the works.
Dive Philadelphia 1995 so far:
Friday night opening party with FREE Seafood Buffet. 5-7pm.
Projection screen TVs, cash bars.
Saturday:
Workshops for various certifications, Exhibits, Speakers, Prizes, and
the Medicine & Physiology of Diving Symposium, presented in plain
English.
Evening Halloween Party Bash - Prizes for best underwater theme
costume.
Sunday:
Workshops for various certifications, Exhibits, Speakers, Prizes, Save-
a-Life at the Red Cross Bloodmobile.
