This is a serious question, so I'll actually give a serious answer. If you're diving on a wreck and your pressure gauge clip (for whatever reason) gets stuck on a piece of the wreckage and you can't remove it (for whatever reason), you'll be glad you had it setup as a breakaway. A guy died on the Doria a few years back because he had a clip he couldn't get free. Maybe one of the northern guys could explain the accident more (I think he had suicide clips and maybe air). Of course, if I dove in the ocean, I'd probably want all of my clips to be of the "break-away" variety (except stage bottle obviously, those can be cut easily enough).
