I don't understand how. All of my stage bottles handwheels are on the "left side", the orifice is pointed towards me. I use my left hand to turn on/off the stage bottle. > Would it make any sense to swap the equipment on the waist left to right in > this case? (ie: light and buckles on the left, stages on the right) No, because then you've broken the system. Every component is just that, a component of an entire system. When scootering the light goes in your left hand anyway (the cord crosses your chest), this is a non-issue except when you first learn to scooter and you're right handed, but after two dives you figure out how to make a proper OK with your left hand and so it's once again a non-issue. When I swim I like the light in my right hand, but it can be just as good in my left hand too. > > The only drawback I see with doing this are that the rig is now slightly non- > standard. The hose routing isn't held in place by the cannister, of course when diving without a light (like in the ocean) you just tuck it under the belt loop anyway so it can be easily deployed. The stage bottles would get in the prop wash of the scooter slowing you down. Wannabies hanging out at Ginnie springs would stand up on a bench and shout that you're a complete stroke even though they themselves don't understand the reasons why.
