Subject: Sinister modifications to DIR.
Ok, the subject is a troll. I admit it. :) But the message is real enough.

DIR rigging puts the stage bottles on the left, and the battery canister
on the right. I believe this is to allow for easy access to the valves on
the stages, and allows the battery canister to assist in the routing of the
long hose.

Is this still the ideal configuration for a lefty? This configuration makes
it more difficult to turn valves with the left hand, and forces the diver
to either wear the light on the right hand, or cross the wire over the body.
Would it make any sense to swap the equipment on the waist left to right in
this case? (ie: light and buckles on the left, stages on the right)

The only drawback I see with doing this are that the rig is now slightly non-
standard. Is this sufficient reason to not rig this way, or am I missing
potential problems?

Brian.
