The army corps of engineers designed the drainage canals throughout the state of florida many years ago. this drainage caused utrification (bad runoff) to the delicate eco-system in what we call our reef. basically the canals built with out retension basins (ponds and such) are the culprits. take a ride through the everglades, it has condos in it...no kidding. we drove to the keys (to dive of course) as we do every year over xmas and in just 1 years time condos are springing up EVERYWHERE.
