I also think that would open a flood of potential lawsuits due to harrasment and illegal search and seizure, but we are getting way ahead of ourselves. I was merely suggesting that maybe instead of slamming skulls with these UNESCO people directly, outreach to select Congressional members, the Coast Guard, and the Navy, rejection of this attempt can be accomplished behind the scenes... The Coasties already have to enforce immigration, oil spills and other environmental threats, drugs, and US fisheries - oh yeah, they have to save people in distress at sea when they have some free time also. I don't think they would be too fond of babysitting divers based on current budget allocations and other duties. Therefore, they and others may be potential allies. I agree there are certain sites that need protection and management, but this UNESCO idea is insane... Michael C.
