Steve- Transpac, transpak, whatever, they both suck. Look, the evil marketing drones know that for every person who knows what DIR is there are 500 who do not. And the margin is much more justifiable on a rig which looks like it's worth $595 rather than a simple one rig which go's for less. Many have tried to go against the evil marketing people (marketing people are law school dropouts) and have lost. About the best we can do is hope that DIR stuff is at least an option so that when the lightbulb finally comes on decent equipment is available. Both DiveRite and Scubapro are trying to offer what the divers need. It's all that we can do is try to talk folks out of the "D-ring Specials" and Do It Right the first time. If the Dring specials don't sell, then the marketing gnomes will have to try a different angle. Jim Sender: Steve Lindblom Date: 2/2/99 12:33 AM >Jim wrote: >>DiveRite sells the TransPac.
