Yes, I generally use ROT, and if you had your 104's at 3000, you still 
have 500 to get to your first stop. I try to get back on the boat with at 
least 1200 or so (with my 104's).

I will have to admit to bending this rule once or twice when on a 
productive location, but not by much.
