Cobber: If I recall correctly almost a year ago you were 'busting my shoes' becuase I checked a few things on my wing prior to the dive and you thought it would leave me unable to cope! Now your going to use a written checklist to remember to put on your ankle wieghts!!! ;-) But it is a good idea. With regard to the equipment packing checklist. I keep a checklist of everything I own in a word processing document file named "List Master Scuba". I use it to create a custom packing list for each dive trip I go on. I am reminded of everything I have so at the dive site I don't suddenly think "I wish I brought the ########". I go down the list and delete from the list what I do NOT want for that particular dive trip. Then I save what is left as another file, like "List Empress Ireland 95". (By starting all the file names with the word 'list' they are grouped together in the directory. I can easily refer to old lists to compare what I have used in the past on a given dive.) I print out the custom list and pack up. I bring everything I know I need. The completed list goes in the bag too, so while packing up to return home I know I haven't forgotten something. When creating the master list, group things together that are logically used together, not how they are packed in the bags. Extraneous things can be grouped together with the dive kit if you are apt to forget them. For example: hoods, mits and liners are followed by a towel for your wet head and whatever type of hat the weather is calling for.
