for my excercise I would say let the user decide. If someone has DCI &
denies it the only way I will be informed is if
1. the patient was treated
2. the victim could not deny it but still did not seek treatment.

The question is denial & whether certain "breds" of divers suffer denial
more than others. I donot think that this is perculiar to one nationality
or another (learned papers aside that I have not read). It is each person
individually based upon there peer group pressure & own reasoning that will

decide any denial or any action. Fear is a great motivator & if DCI is
seen by some people as being BAD & a reflection on POOR diving ability then

denial would be many peoples first reaction. However the same rules apply
to a scenario where being bent is seen as a macho (ladies plse forgive me)
thing and a requirement to be accepted into an elite club. This kind of
(and plse forgive my language) penis envy is in most of us in one way or
the other (what is the female term?). Those of us on this list who
advocate & partake in deep cave/wreck mix dives (and I am no expert here)
all suffer from some form of ego or adrenalin rush. Admit it, and let's
carry on.

Diver: Do Not Bend
----------------------------
The objective of the survey is simply to ascertain if any one type of diver

suffers dci denial more than another group. I am not going to say if
someone was bent if they thought they weren't...
