So... What's wrong with wearing that "pony" bottle on the side? Oh right! You wouldn't want to have someone suggest you were wearing a stage bottle! If it is up front you can see, adjust it, reach it or even donate it! You can even handle a regulator failure on the "pony". It would really be a shame to have to call it a stage bottle though. Let's see... Side mount? It's a stage bottle. But if I wear a stage I'd use the rule of thirds and a Y valve so I have proper redundancy, and deco gas. Oh my, I'd actually have to plan my dive before hand. Wear that extra bottle on your back. Now it's a "pony bottle", "I've got safety". I can do deco, "I've got safety". I can extend my bottom time, "I've got safety". I can go deeper on my single tank, "I've got safety".... Oh my!!!!! I started with the wrong reg. Oh my, I read the wrong gauge. Oh my, I breathed the wrong gas. Oh my that "pony" is empty. Oh my I should have listened to Cobb.... Dohhh!!! I shouldn't have used a back mounted stage bottle. Oh well shit happens. Now I'm dead. In retrospect those guys on that darn tech list haven't got a clue. Let's go back to rec.scuba. Mat. ---Jim Cobb <cobber@ci*.co*> wrote: > > Oh, dear.
