Jim- Sounds like you guys saw a copy of a video that I made about a year ago entitled "SkyeCliffe Over Time". I wish I could say the conditions are always as good as what you saw in the first part of the video, with 200 ft vis and NO current. Unfortunately we usually have a current (the Gulf Stream) and sometime it really rips. Also vis is usally closer to 40 ft than 200. But, hey, after 10 years of living and diving in S. Florida, I'm spoiled rotten! I spent about 18 years diving the wrecks off NJ and NY before I moved here, so I know all about rotten vis and long, long boat rides. I think I like this better....;-). Tony Phillips has copied me on his exchanges with you on this subject, so I know your comments about the gear configurations. It is interesting to see how they improve over time, in spite of the fact that some of the divers should probably have got a bit more experience before they tackled the SkyeCliffe. The whole vide was shot from charter boats, so I had no control over who was in it or how their gear was rigged. I have to admit the, while the diving is lots easier here than in NJ (or VB), in a way it can bring an insideous danger of it's own - when I was 170 ft down on a Jersey wreck, I KNEW I was DEEP! Here, it's so much easier, that you have to remind yourself that the same rules of physics & physiology still apply. Anyway, thanks for the nice remarks. BTW - I do sell this video for $15 a copy plus $3 shipping. Contact me by privat email (off this list) if you want a copy.
