From what I've noted, and also heard, the zebra mussels are starting to taper off. I think that nature will take its course with them. Something that predates on them will appear. They don't like copper, they don't seem to like glass or china. Artifacts made of those things remain uncovered by them. Many areas in the Great Lakes are preserves, and that's why artifacts remain intact for all to see. The ocean is different, but the Great Lakes preserve their wrecks. The cold fresh water allows wooden schooners to remain intact even after 100 yrs on the bottom.
