No.

The valve in question is the "quick" cut-off valve for the O2 supply to
the solenoid (I know of no other rebreather which has such a safety
feature). It's purpose is to allow the diver to immediately disable the
O2 supply to the solenoid, in the event that the solenoid jams in the open
position (in thousands of hours of testing on this solenoid valve, it has
*never* once failed open). I assume their use of the word "sticky" meant
that this valve still worked fine, but was a bit stiff to turn (it's
designed to be a one-handed operation, yet not allow itself to be bumped
off inadvertently). Even if this valve stuck entirely (which it hadn't,
nor ever has to my knowledge), there are still two other valves that a
diver can turn quickly (using only one hand) that would immediately
disable the O2 supply to the solenoid (on most CCR's, the only way to do
this is to turn off the O2 cylinder valve).

The "sticky" valve does have one other function, which is to route O2 to
the OC bailout regulator. Obviously, this is something which you wouldn't
want to do accidently (which is why that position of the valve requires a
very conscious two-handed operation). Also, obviously, this is a feature
that is irrelevant to the Wak2 divers.

Hope that answers your questions.

Aloha,
Rich

P.S. Again, I nixed the cavers address from the CC list. Please forward
this on to that list for me. Thanks.
