Subject: O2 switches?

Rich,

Knowing nothing about ccr's, would the below quoted thing be a 
problem at 100m a mile back in a cave with poor visibility?

"Jim Brown and Jason Mallinson re-assemble a"sticky" oxygen cut-off
switch that now works smoothly."

What does this mean? Cut-off switch? Sticky? If it sticks, what 
happens? Can you explain this for me?
