Those were the points I was alluding to. Just want to make sure they are mentioned. 3) very few regs are SO DIS-SIMILAR that they wouldn't function (at least on a minimal level) when stages are swapped around. I believe you are right. I only know about Scubapro (MK20) and Apeks (TX40/50) since I don't use other brands (and models) of regulators. And they are interchangeable. 4) don't understand why you couldn't swap out a whole DIN reg U/W in an emergency....sure, a bit more twisting and screwing, but not harder than a yoke... In the past, I have had problem getting my DIN regulators off at times. Jammer posted a while back explaining the reason for that was due to the wrong size O-ring on the regulator. I haven't had any problem since. But I remember having to use a channel lock to remove my DIN regulators, so it would have been impossible to do it underwater as my Halcyon pockets are not big enough to carry a channel lock :) I agree with you that it could be done depending on the size of the O-ring, but not always easily. Ever since Jess posted about using yoke for deco/stage bottle to increase swapping ease and speed, I have been thinking about it. I just haven't decided on the offset between ease of swapping versus captured O-ring and smaller profile yet. Advise, anyone ?
