I am also currently reading Weinke's book... it reminds me of my old
days in optimal control class with the Hamiltonians and all.

My question is about the DCIEM algorithm. I have both the DCIEM
Manual and John Lippman's _Deeper Into Diving_, which gives some
background about the DCIEM table development, but neither of these
say anything about the algorithm. Is it published somewhere, or is
it proprietary?

If it is not published anywhere, just how hard would it be to reverse
engineer it from the multitude of tables they give you in the manual?

Regards,

Christina
