Randy, congrats on the no name child - sounds like the 1974 Dolphins defensive backfield. While there we learn more from Gagne's life than from his death, we learn more from the Rouses' death . When ever you mention them, you need to remind everyone that they died deep air diving, the kind of crap that you dive instructors continue to teach, and the kind of crap that the strokes continue to preach. We will see if you let the unnamed one dive deep air. My kids quit diving due to the high accident rate of the rest of you out there. It is also a good time to remind everyone that Rouse senior was heard to say , "I will probably regret doing this dive" due to adverse conditions prior to the dive ( failed to exercise Option Number One ), that the younger one used all of his air up in the sub, and that they both shot to the surface, killing the one on the spot, and the other in the chamber, a real fine scene. While we hear excuse after excuse for the current accidents and while it is true that some of the real deep air idiots in diving have been totally discredited, the rest of you conintue to practice convoluted stupidty and inconsistent standards on the edge of outright insanity that will guarantee an ongoing accident bonanza. Randy, when your kid gets old enough, will you be able to coherently explain to him how you were teaching nitrox to 170, air to 190, but trimix with a 130 AED? If you , Mount, or any of the other "instructors" out there can reconcile this stupidity , I will kiss all of your asses. Time for some reflection now - all of you who teach for these agencies are morons for going along with this. All of you who whine about the deaths need to learn how to do things properly, and enforce what goes on around you. I won't get on a boat where bullshit is going on, and the sooner the rest of you do just that, the sooner that bullshit insruction stops, and the sooner the accidents stop. Cave diving is even worse - luckily there are very few caves for strokes to dive, and no deep ones, ohter than the current death window in Wakulla that will soon be permantently slammed shut. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
