OK, glad to get that clear, and sorry to bore in over this, but as a
homemixer, I get sick of industry and dive shop hot shots putting down home
mixers and the Hacker when they don't really know anything about either,
just on the principle of assuming the worst. So when you posted what
appeared to be a unjustifiably derogatory comment, then admitted you hadn't
even read it, I may have jumped to the conclusion you were doing the same.

Like I said earlier, I think most of this is sour grapes, and a desire by
the "insiders" to keep the knowledge private so they can continue to
maximize the profits they make from something which is, as you acknowledge,
is not a big deal..

The joke is a lot of these idiots (and I am excluding you from this
category) know a lot less about mixing than the average tech diver/home
mixer (who I've found, tend to be very technically minded and well
informed) and usually aren't even qualified to judge the book even if
they'd read it.
They've taken a quickee course while they were at DEMA or something, and
not really paying attention, then they think they should be the only ones
allowed to mix, or even talk about it. Like the guy who was cleaning tanks
but not the valves, or the one who was PP mixing in non-cleaned tanks, and
insisted to me that in wasn't necessary long as he didn't mix to higher
than 40% - true stories, and both were dive shop operators who'd taken
agency courses. And I've seen some fill rates at shops doing PP mixing that
would make even the most half-assed home mixer break out in a cold sweat.

BTW, I took another look, and the Hacker does discuss teflon tape - it's
under valves. I'd lend you my copy so you could compare what it says, but I
need it :-)
