The Australian-Turkish AE2 Project 98 have now successfully dived the Australian WW1 Submarine the AE2, scuttled at the start of the Gallipoli Campaign in April 1915. To date 12 man dives have been completed on the submarine over 3 days, using a trimix of 16% Oxygen, 50% Helium & 34% Nitrogen, diving to a dept= h of 73msw. Decompression has been on Nitrox 32, from 30msw, and Nitrox 80= from 9msw with a bottom time of 18 minutes and a run times of 90 minutes.= Tables have been generated by Abyss v2.0 and all divers have been doppler= checked to the satisfaction by the on board Hyperbaric Doctor. The submarine sits upright on mud, intact and in generally good condition= =2E = Some trawler nets can be seen, and visibility varies from 3m to 10m. The= pressure hull, conning tower, bow & stern hydroplanes, rudder & propellor= tips are all visible, allowing and excellent opportunity to positively identify the wreck as the AE2.
