Thank You Tom for finally getting up to bat. I've been on this list for
several months and while I have learned a few things from the people on this
list which I do appreciate this is one IANTD instructor who would not think
of changing to GUE. Not because of improper procedures but because of the
big headed attitudes that leave the wrong kind of message. I am tired of
seeing IANTD take a beating because some guy/guys are trying to make a name
for themselves.
Now I might be wrong but it seems to me that GUE could attract a lot more
support by being helpful than by being accusative. I like the idea of an
organization backing me, that's there to help, not looking for places or
people to point a finger at. I believe that Dan Volker once said in a post
that he does not represent GUE. If that is the case GUE would be better off
if he didn't keep trying so hard to do so. I for one am becoming nauseated
over this whole situation because people are getting driven away from this
list and our sport because of stupid politics.
I'm not in diving to become famous or to profess that my way is the only
way. I dive because I love diving and I became an instructor because I
wanted to share my experience with others. You have seen me ask questions of
this list because I keep an open mind and am always to hear new ideas or a
better way of doing something.
This thing with DIR as GUE calls it is very closed minded and if it catches
on everyone would blindly play follow the leader which would severely retard
the growth of Tech diving. There is more than one way to accomplish a job
and if the job gets done safely and well who should say which way is "Doing
It Right" GUE??? Dan remember that stupid body count? Lets not go there
again.
Once again Thank You Tom Mount

Good Diving by George!!!!
