Sean, If you are diving in a place that has sharp objects, then (in my
opinion) you need the DUI *CRUSHED* NEOPRENE suit (CF200X or similar). I
think DUI is the only company that uses the "CRUSHED" neoprene. I
believe they have the patent on it (correct me if I'm wrong). My 200X is
actually a little less buoyant than my Viking Pro and about the same as a
"bag" suit. It is far tougher than the other two also.

I know the Tri-lams are more popular for caves, but I do not understand
why. They dry faster - what's that got to do with diving? They are
easier to repair - dive a suit that won't tear or puncture (near as easy)
and avoid or reduce the problem in the first place! They're lighter and
more comfortable out of the water - again, what's this got to do with
diving? They have to be cut a little bit large to fit (Tri-Lam doesn't
stretch) resulting in some wrinkling and resistance in the water - the
200 material stretches and is slicker through the water (less wrinkles if
it fits correctly). The TLS is less expensive - not a factor if my life
depends on my gear (you get what you pay for)! WOW, I can feel the
flames building already, and I haven't even posted this yet! :-o

I have dove all suit materials I know of except the "compressed neoprene"
(different than crushed) and prefer the 200X to the others hands down for
an all around suit (especially if it was to be my only one). The only
other possibility *FOR ME* would be a custom TLS350 made out of the
heavier material used in DUI's commercial fabric suit. DUI said they
would do this for any of you that might be interested.

Here's a good test for which suit to use wreck diving:
Take a sample piece of material from all the different suits, a knife, a
piece of sharp rebar, maybe some jagged pieces of rusty steel, a pointed
scrap of wood, and try to tear and/or puncture the different suit
materials. Granted, this is not the only consideration, but I think it
is an important one.

Good luck on your decision,
Mike W.
