Tell him >privately and get on with your life. It's really shortsighted to >ignore or obscure his message because you don't like the delivery, >however. You've really got to keep your priorities straight. > >- Todd > OK...maybe I did get a little carried away bringing up Rob Wolov's death....it really had nothing to do with the main content of my message. It's just that with all the talk lately of "bondage wings" etc, (and no I don't own a set) it seems if Rob's accident was someone not known to Techdiver, then "the usual suspects" would probably be jumping up and down saying he must have been wearing those and that's why he didn't make it back to the surface or some such. With regard to putting people down who have valid experience (but not in caves) I was thinking more in terms of Rich Pyle and his CIS Lunar experience. Valid experience but readily dismissed because he doesn't have "the end of the line" in some cave. If I may, I take back the comments with respect to Rob but stand behind the rest of my comments regarding recognition. AGAIN, I'm NOT talking about the delivery of the DIR concept!!! There are arguments pro and con with the method of it's delivery. What I was commenting on was George's comment about NOBODY wanting to recognize the WKPP with respect to their achievements. The biggest negative I can come up with are the ego's and chest pounding and put downs of anyone who tries something similar. What else could be the reason??? And BTW, I WILL get on with my life regardless of what the WKPP does or does not do.....it doesn't affect me either way. It's just that one can only listen to so much whining before one has to point out the obvious. Al -- Alan D.
