My friend Olivier Isler, who is not yet connected to the Internet, honors me with the privilege of transmitting the following announcement. I wish to point out that he is too modest to lay claim to any record, although, to my knowledge, this dive is the longest (both in distance and time) penetration dive performed as described. "On August 2, 1998, after many setbacks, I managed to find my Grail, the continuation of the siphon of the Doux de Coly, and to extend the explored portion to 4250m. Bottom time not including decompression was 5h42min., and decompression lasted another 9h15min. This was a solo dive all the way (except during decompression) performed entirely with my 9-year old RI2000 SCR. There were no staged bottom mix tanks, as I carried with me all the bottom mix (64 liters in four tanks) I needed. The whole decompression was performed in a shaft 300m from the entry point, using six staged tanks with various deco mixes. I feel very proud of this achievement, and I am presently preparing a more detailed account to be issued later. I wish to thank all 25 members of the team from six countries who helped me in this endeavor." Olivier Isler -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
