For a long list of how I misquote and twist information to reflect something other than reality, see http://www.concentric.net/~Wrolf. Some more reading: Billyw's posts on techdiver, which started Jul 19 1996: http://www.aquanaut.com/bin/mlist/aquanaut/techdiver/from?bdi My posts on techdiver, which started Mar 25 1993 around the time of the techdiver list creation: http://www.aquanaut.com/bin/mlist/aquanaut/techdiver/from?wrolf My reason for being angry at George, 12 Aug 1998: http://www.aquanaut.com/bin/mlist/aquanaut/techdiver/display?29902,from Billyw's reason for being angry at me, 19 Aug 1998: http://www.aquanaut.com/bin/mlist/aquanaut/techdiver/display?30066,from >You are now repeating these old, unsupported, and third- >hand character slurs with the same intent - to damage >George's reputation in order to undermine his credibility. As far as the last, Billyw misunderstands me. In this he is not alone - I have received e-mail, some of it I believe publicly in the techdiver forum, which did understand the point of my posts, and much that did not. I saw George accusing everyone under the sun, from Brett Gilliam to random people whom he had never met, of drug abuse (pot smoking, especially when about to go diving). On the the other hand, Brett Gilliam was (and is) accusing George of being a former cocaine addict. Seemed to me like there was a story here. Each is accusing the other of pretty much the same thing! I would not now have sought confirmation or denial from George in such a public forum, at least in the first place. It may be the reason that he came clean on this. But George has now come clean on this subject. But I probably would not have had so many conversations with his lawyer. I have still been unable to find confirmation of current drug use by Brett Gilliam. The only story that I ever hear, turns out to be the alleged TDI instructor, who claimed after a DEMA conference, that he had smoked a joint with Brett. I would assume more evidence by now. I have read various articles by Brett, in which he fails to condemn marijuana as causing insanity, violence, and cross-dressing (it doesn't). And I have read the article describing how the USN gave him marijuana as a test subject, back in the 1970s or something. Hey, if he got given it by a guy with stripes, he gets a free ride on that one. But I have never seen or heard a credible, detailed accusation of current marijuana use. I am very interested, and I assume that so would George's lawyer. Any info, e-mail me at mailto:wrolf@co*.ne*. Presumably this issue will now be adjudicated in the courts. I sincerely regret not having sought comment from George Irvine III privately, before publishing information my web site or publicly e-mailing on the techdiver list. I apologize to George for having done so, and to the members of this list, for having wasted their time. -- Wrolf "If there be time to expose through discussion the falsehood and the fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence." -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, 1927 -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
