If anyone knows where to get this stuff let me know. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mark Melendez melendez at bigfoot dot com Subject: No Machining flow restrictor Date: Wed, 06 May 1998 15:44:22 -0400 From: Roger Lacasse <lacasse@po*.ca*.ca*> Organization: CAE Electronics Ltd. Here si something you might want to put into your next edition of the O2 hacker's companion. I made a flow restrictor out of a barb to female 1/2 NPT, BC to 1/2" NPT and 0.5 micron S/S sintered filter from Swadgelok. The sintered filter would normally let 20 to 50 times to much gas through at 140 psi differential. The idea is to use epoxy glue to glue the filter to the inside of the barbed part and to cover most of the surface of the filter. Leaving a small spot of about 3 mm in diamter exposed. I now have a flow restrictor that lets about 3 liters per min go through. Costs: barbed to 1/2 NPT 1$ sintered filter is about 3.5$ BCD connector 5$ To measure that, I used a large measuring cup inverted inside a bucket of water while feeding the output of the restrictor. ps: I'm quite sure that I used "O2 compatible" epoxy though... -- Roger Lacasse C.elec.: lacasse@ca*.ca* Groupe des commandes de vol, departement 24 Tel (514) 341-2000 #2973 CAE Electronique Ltee Fax (514) 734-5741 -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
