Manifolded systems do not confer redundancy as absolutely
as independent doubles, yet Mr Gavin and Mr Jablonski, I
believe, would only entertain independent doubles for
sidemount applications.

Unless one was on a work-up or gear familiarisation dive,
one would be a stroke to dive doubles in applications where 
a single tank would do.
