It is about as pure DIR/Hogarthian/whatever as

WHO EVER said redundancy was at the core of DIR?  
WHO MADE THIS CLAIM?!  WHO?!!

Nor does it need them. Though I might add a short
long hose at some stage, when I've figured how it
will lay.

The rig I described demonstrates the efficacy of 
the DIR way of thinking to entry level divers while 
they're still malleable. Before they get screwed by 
the sleazebags. And before they're doing dives that 
require doubles.

Preferable? preferable? To what? To whom? On what 
authority do you make this sweeping claim?
