The only "DIR" instructors which exist today are either WKPP team members
who are also instructors, or GUE instructors---so the "universe I am
describing has not much more than a dozen or so members----this is a small
enough group so that there is NO chance any will break standards.
This is NOT to say a new diver in state X can not buy a piece of gear we say
is DIR compliant, and use it. But this will not make them a DIR diver. And
from another post I read, it appears that whoever the instructor was in
question, all they did was facilitate a sale of a few pieces of gear.......>>

Fine, but you guys have created this pardigm of the safest of safe diving,
relentlessly promoted it and now people are accessing it all
over.....accesssing the gear, accessing bits and pieces of it and assuming
that they too are the safest of safe and the best of the best......its fine to
sit on your respective mountain tops and sigh oh, but they aren't actually
DIR....but thats way too easy......curious how a DIr instructor can have a
failure to communicate while anyone else is a co-conspirator in murder.......
