>I also have a 12l tank with a 3l pony (in a pony bag). A work of warning about pony bags. I used one until recently when a divemaster on a boat said she had lost a complete pony rig when the mesh at the bottom of the bag ripped out during a dive and the bottle fell through, yanking the regulator out of its retaining clip and going straight to the bottom. I examined the mesh on my bag and noticed that it was already partly broken, even though the bag was only 6 months old. I bought a stainless steel mounting bracket off another divemaster on the spot. Other pony bags may be just fine, but if you have a bag with a mesh bottom, keep a careful check on it or replace it. The nylon mesh can weaken and tear out all at once and very unexpectedly.
