I certainly am not trying to indict the DIR system.  I think it is simply the
best system yet devised for technical diving.  It just was not the system
these divers (or any OW divers)  were taught to use.  They need more training
to use it properly.

 The reason the diver had to remove her equipment was that she was tired and
unable to climb back onto the boat with all of that weight on.  She simply was
unfamiliar with this type of equipment.  Ineptitude and ignorance can be fixed
with experience and training.
