Hello Greg Kuiper, My name is Dean Fessler. I got your name and e-mail address from an e-mail sent to me via William Schmoldt. I am currently a diver in San Diego who got his initial deep/wreck diving training and experience with Bill Schmoldt in New Jersey. The reason I am contacting you is in reference to an e-mail entitled the "California Channel". In this e-mail you describe the La Jolla Submarine Canyon dive site and mention that the White Shark comes down to pup in this canyon. I have heard this many times before but I have never spoke with any divers or researchers who have had any actual sightings or documentation of this event. Therefore, I was wondering if you had any additional information or specific contacts/references that I could get in touch with regarding the birthing of the young white sharks? I am currently preparing to relocate to South Africa for the next year in order to conduct White Shark research and any additional information I can obtain regarding the white sharks in California would be invaluable!
