No. Regardless of the acuracy of the reported injuries and deaths, no one knows how many dives have been done without injury or death. There is no way to find this number out. For example, since I dive, and no one has contacted me for my dive statistics, any claim of accuracy in an injury per dive number is false, since it doesn't include my dives. Have you been contacted? Then is doesn't include your dives, either. Therefore, it's not possible to calculate an injuries-per-dive or a fatality-per-dive, unless the scope is limited to a controlled set. (For instance, in WKPP, the injuries per dive are XX, or off the Belize Aggressor, the fatalities per dive between the dates of Jan 1, 1997 and Jan 1, 1998, were YY.) Actually, I see problems with both those statements, too, but the answer to your question is "No". -- "C'mon, you sons of bitches, you want to live forever?" -First Sergeant Dan Daly "Who wants to live forever?" -Freddie Mercury "I swear, I'm going to live forever" -Jon Bon Jovi -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
