This is pretty funny. I've seen this misconception before. The only thing that doesn't make sense, however, is that Bill Stone published a series of articles outlining the basic design of his rebreather, long before he even knew the EX-19 existed. So, let's see: The USN has a top-secret rebreather development program, and Bill Stone publishes his ideas all over the place. If any copying was done, in which direction do you think the copying went? My honest answer? I don't think either tried to do any copying. I see convergencies in nature all the time. It's no surprise that clever engineers will arrive at the same optimal solution to a specific problem. > I remember seeing a discussion by Dick Pile and others of an > expedition where they were diving CCR's in the ocean, and Pile went over > some events that occurred and his response to them. The Copier > and Faker spoke . What does this tell you? Huh? Explain to me how my leaving a drain port open on the bottom of the canister housing is anything *BUT* diver error. But of course, I was able to recover a TOTAL flood in mid-dive and complete the decompression in fully-closed circuit mode with a fully-functional rebreather. I didn't even have to repack my LITHIUM HYDROXIDE for the next day's diving, because the WATERPROOF CANISTER kept it safe and dry even with a TOTAL LOOP FLOOD. But I suppose that trick was just another copy of the EX-19 - right? But, since this is clearly a troll, I'll let it go at that.
