Subject: Re: WRECK GEAR
Pete, thanks for the info. I have seen the harness you speak of .What irks
me is that there are a lot of people out there who are reading the tech posts
and are becoming self acclaimed experts on the concept and preach Doing It
Right is the only way to go and label me as a stroke because of gear
configuration, but, they have their gear configured in a different convaluted
method, amazing thing ego. I do believe George's whole concept is valid, well
thought out and proven. I only wish I could be in the same company he keeps.
He has accomplished what I would never attempt or could imagine. I have done
some cave diving in northern florida with Steve Garrard and Bird met Steve
Berman acting in the capacity of guide at a place called Dipolder doing a dive
with Steve Gronert in a pretty deep hole and penetration (guide required). I
have also dived the N.E and have met and spoke about gear configuration to
Danny Berg the Author of Wreck Vally. Steve and Janet from the Reserch
vesesl Wahoo and a lot of other serious wreck divers. So to make a blanket
statement and say, this is the ultimate way to dive in all enviroments
regarding gear config as per Doing IT Right has my head in a cluster fuck. So
I have come to the conclusion if you configure your gear on proven method's
from experianced divers who have dove their own unique enviroments without any
floaters because of gear configuration seem to be the best of both worlds and
I do acknowlege most of the gear confiuration has come from the cave
commmunity and have paved the way for wreck divers, one of the main reasons
for taking a cave course for me was to be a better wreck diver. Only looking
to learn and improve any and all coments would be great.
Bob
