But, then, if the temperature changes, couldn't the bungees fail,
catastrophically, releasing his volume all at once, and making a mess of
the deck?
And tommy checks every inch of those fucking cords before each dive- how
often would he have to check bungies that his life depends on if they're
in use 24 hours a day?
