Steve, The dive computer that you want is not yet on the market unless you want to spend GBP 8,000 ish and get a free rebreather! If using trimix, plan the dive, cut a few tables, laminate them and dive one of the plans. If using air with O2 deco, the DCIEM tables as modified allow for this and are available in laminated form (I believe that they were modified by John Crea and can be purchased from John Comley - let me know if you need e-mail details) If using air with 80/20, 50/50 or whatever, you have very little choice except using Abyss, Proplan or some such programme to calculate at say 3m and 5min intervals all relevant posibilities, use this info to make a table and laminate it. I have done this for 75/25 from the 9m stop and with the 3m stop pulled to 6m. I use it in conjunction with an air computer (or two) and a few modifications, basically, OVERSIMPLIFIED, following the computer until I get to the 9m point, switch to 80/20 and follow what the tables say based on my max depth and bottom time from there on except that when the tables indicate that I would be clear to ascend to 3m, I ascend as near to 3m as comfortable given the sea conditions and stay there for the time indicated by the tables which assume I am still at 6m. I know of no other group using this method and have not had it validated except that it works for us. > Do any of the nitrox computers coming onto the market allow a mid-dive > gas switch from air to nitrox at the deco stop ? > > If the answer to this is 'no', how do divers cope with the need to dive > flexibly and the desire to reduce deco times using nitrox ? -- |_| _ _ _ < Internet : harry@ra*.de*.co*.uk* | | (_)_ | | |_| < CI$ : 100141,1632 <Harry Railing> | < Snail : 25 Dafforne Road, London SW17 8TE, UK
