You wear a dry suit to be warm, and if you float easier so much the better. If you have a primary bladder failure and a dry suit failure on the same dive you have some seriously bad jo jo. If your inspecting and maintaining your gear this should not happen. I'm curious what happens when you have a dry suit and double bladder failure? You can accept the extra failure points on the drysuits because you cant get that thermal protection in another way. The additional bladder on the bc can be eliminated if you properly match your exposure suit to your tank configuration..thus aluminum back gas tanks with the wet suit, and steels with the dry suit only. The extra bladder would only be needed if you are wearing the wrong type of suit, or have grossly mis calculated your buoyancy requirements. I think all divers are tired of hearing the refrain" divers use too much weight" but it is a valid comment. Furthermore others on this list have opined as to the longevity of the schraeder valve and the reliability of the standard oms inflator system. I would ask any of the bondage wing owners who have responded( paging Tom Easop, mr. tom easop) as well as those who have not, to let us know their observations with regard to the inflator system. I am really just looking for facts here and not seeking to blast others. I dont have an oms wing so I cant perform any tests myself.
