Several additional points which are not mentioned below:

1.    Proper stages (near neutral AL 80's or 40's) only weigh 2-4 pounds
filled and rigged. If you are attempting this experiment in the comfort of
your living room, you will find that either side is better in air, given the
fact that the stage then weighs closer to 40 pounds each.

2.    The light weighs 7-8 pounds and balances upto a triple stage
perfectly. Several more stages (typically high He.) do not present and
uncomfortable position either.

3.    Perhaps the most compelling reason for single side staging is the
ability to always have full use of one arm. This WILL prove very comforting
when having to deal with a problem or in the prevention of mistakes. When
moving to multiple stages we sometimes TAG a group by the lower left d-ring
depending on head-to-toe trim requirement.
